PRO DRAG RACING CHAMIPIONSHIP
Pro Mod, short for "Pro Modified," features cars that are heavily modified for maximum performance, often pushing the boundaries of engineering and design. In this category, vehicles compete in a variety of configurations, including twin-turbocharged, supercharged, and Pro-Charged engines - typically making well over 3000 horsepower each.
The great equaliser in Pro Mod is that all cars run to an "index" of 5.85, meaning that the category is typically one of the closest fields in terms of performance across the entire category. Typically, speeds of over 400kph are not uncommon in Pro Mod.
The body styles can range from highly modified replicas of 1930's and 40's hot rods to Australian and American classic muscle cars and late model Mustangs and Camaros - the main rule being that the car must have at least two doors, and the driver must sit to the left or right hand side of the car.
As one of the newest classes in professional drag racing, it is also one of the most exciting with a very strong fan base across Australia.
